Former governor Barnes can keep his cows, city says

The City of Marietta gave a victory to Governor Barnes in his battle to keep his beloved cows.  Apparently, his cows are grandfathered in, however, don’t look for Marietta’s cattle industry to grow beyond rich old folks craving a little nostalgia of days gone by.  You must have at least five acres of land to own cattle within the city limits.

Well good for him. Not as good news as Camp Wellstone coming here, but still a much misunderstood grand Southern tradition. Scotch-Irish too, with urban ponies, but another story. Welcome is the day when you can be reminded of the dawn by distant crowing. JMP
