Jobs? Education? Budget?

We all hope these pressing issues are at the top of the list for our Georgia legislators.  Alas, some have other things on their minds.

I present to you HB401: The Presidential Eligibilty Assurance Act.

If 1% = 95% is virtuous, goodness, and light, and the nation’s economy literally crumbling beneath our feet on the roads and bridges, as well as the rest of the national infrastructure, then maybe the fruits of conservative and market dominance haven’t been bitter.

    23% to 14%. Startling.

Thanks. Whatever evil Google may be up to in the world, Google Books is pretty damn cool. Also, I’m surprised that the consumption of Web sites was not closer to equal between Republicans and Democrats.

Progressives are more likely to tune in to PBS or NPR than conservatives

Do you have a cite for that?

Progressives and Democrats are more likely donate to PBS and NPR and the arts than conservatives.

    Cite, please?

Oh. I forgot. Goodness and light are the sole purview of the progressives. I’ll make sure my notes are up to date.

Shepard Smith: Fight in Wisconsin is “100% politics.”

Only three of the top ten donors to political campaigns are Democrats, and all three of them are unions. “Bust the unions, it’s over.” It’s a strategic initiative. Some people need to wake up.

It’s even larger than that B. It goes right to the heart of defunding & delegitimizing any & all public enterprises, & privatizing those that might make some money to your cronies. But if it’s got ‘public’ in it’s name or purpose? They’re against it. It’s an peculiar ethos decades in duration. Despite plenty of them enjoying NPR & PBS too. They just think they’re entitled to enjoy the goods without paying for them. Industry as theft. As old as time itself.

It is a political move designed to deligitimate Barack Hussein Obama by attacking his ethnic and racial identity.

I meant to say that it was a political move just like (almost) every legislative move the Republicans make are political moves. I should have been more specific, but I was in a hurry. If you believe PBS should rely on donations, that doesn’t necessarily mean that you agree with the political motivation behind the legislative move, which is to defund progressives. Progressives are more likely to tune in to PBS or NPR than conservatives, and they are especially more likely to believe that programming in the public interest should be available to all, not just those who can afford it. Progressives and Democrats are more likely donate to PBS and NPR and the arts than conservatives. So money that otherwise might go to some worthy candidate, instead goes to insure that public programming is still available to all. I don’t think what I’m saying is controversial territory, among politicos or the science community.

I’m confused.. don’t I need a birth certificate to get a passport? Plus since when has a baptismal certificate been a legal form of citizenship-like 1950?

I supposed I should have stopped at “I’m confused”

It has nothing to do with any of that and you do nothing but muddy the waters. If I agree with defunding PBS, I’m akin to a birther? Give me a break.

And when the hell was PBS Democrat only territory?

It’s a political bill, and it’s goal is the same one that’s behind corporate immunization legislation (tort reform), defunding PBS, and the battle going on in Madison, Wisc. right now, which is to defund Democrats. Although HB401 is more of a symbolic ploy at Obama’s racial and ethnic identity.

Oh and if somehow that still does not convince you that this is the most heinous kind of tailor made kookiness, Galloway’s latest article has this.

“Hatfield’s bill would require certified copies of “the candidate’s first original long-form birth certificate.” Documentation as provided by Hawaii, which has insisted time and time again that Obama was born there, “would not suffice,” Hatfield said.”

To call the agenda here thinly veiled is to insult veils.

“Not clicking the link but if its the bill I think it is, some form of a utilitarian argument could be made that this is extremely important. I think it *could* be but this particular instantiation at this particular time is not important.”

Read the bill, Ed. There is nothing utilitarian here.

It requires an original long form certificate of live birth. Many states digitized those years ago and the original does not exist.

So obviously they must have a provision if that’s not available.

Well…..they do! And it reads like a Birther wish list.

If the original COLB does not exist then the candidate must present “the candidate shall attach certified exact copies of other original documentation, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s birth records, adoption records, baptism records, Social Security records, medical records, school and college
records, military records, and passport records showing, either individually or collectively, that the candidate meets the natural born citizenship, age, and residency requirements prescribed by Article II, Section 1 of the United States Constitution”

Baptism records? College records? Medical records?

I have a word I usually hold in reserve for the most contemptible fever dreams of our politicians.

    And it is, horseshit.

93 GOP co-signers and Bobby Franklin.

Yup America we’re a day late and about 30 billion short of a balanced budget.

This from the same house that barred the President from becoming a member of the GA Black Caucus.

We got “special” written all over us.

If it passes, it will likely require Obama to produce his birth certificate to Georgia before he gets on the 2012 ballot. *eye roll*
