Fulton County Superior Court Judge Michael Johnson tendered his resignation to Governor Deal earlier today. Given what Catherine reported in January of last year, rumors are swirling.

I generally agree, but honestly there’s not much more that John Lewis can do, in or outside of the district, that would make him a better Rep. He’s the best. Now there ARE some Democratic Representatives that need a little more pushing, but that’s a different story.

There’s no way he will win, but I think it’s good to have Members of Congress challenged by credible candidates. Having Johnson in the race might just prompt Lewis to work harder and do a better job articulating what he does in Washington for us. There’s nothing wrong with John Lewis, or any incumbent, being required to work for our votes.

If he did this to run against John Lewis, he could be the biggest dolt in the world. A little-known Superior Court judge running against one of the most famous Civil Rights leaders with coffers that anyone would be jealous of?
Dream on, brother. You’re not getting this vote.

I’m assuming it’ll be in the AJC or Daily Report tomorrow.

Has anyone seen the letter of resignation?
