Dan Matthews forced a runoff with his Republican opponent, Chuck Williams in the HD-113 Special Election in North Georgia.

July 19 is the date for the runoff vote.

The two are running to replace Hank Huckaby, now the University System of Georgia chancellor.

Best of luck to Matthews. Should he win, it would be an epic coup as the district is solidly Republican but… special election runoffs (and runoffs in general) are strange things and anything can happen.
