I had every intention of doing a full review today.
However, I just didn’t feel like reading the paper fully other than the Book Review and the feature on the World Bank. (Buy the paper to read it. Seriously.)
However, I saw this quote from a review of the latest translation of Aristotle’s “Ethics” and it is by far, one of the best quotes you’ll read.
“[H]uman beings are passionately attached to their opinions by interests that have nothing to do with the truth.”
In fact, that whole paragraph is great.
Side note: the review could have benefited from closer attention to the philosophical ramifications of the new translation, not so much Aristotle’s role to Strauss and Churchill, or at least a greater exploration into Strauss’ opinions. That would, however, be an entirely different article I suppose.
