The Bitterness of De-Feet

Here’s a quick run-down of a few of today’s weird and hilarious news stories, including some great election results.

1. Author of Arizona Immigration Law loses recall election

I love this story. Flanked by Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, Arizona Senator Russell Pearce conceded defeat in his recall election to his opponent, Jerry Lewis (Goodness Gracious).

2. Another foot has washed up in Canada!

I don’t know if anyone normal is following this story, so I’ll give you a quick run-down. Over the past few years, feet which are still in their shoes have been washing up on the shores of British Columbia (and elsewhere), and the ninth was discovered yesterday. While most of these have been tennis shoes, this latest one was found in a hiking boot. The going theory on the source of the feet is that they’re the result of either a plane crash or a boating accident.

3. Clint Eastwood has boarded the Herman Cain Train

Clint Eastwood has always had some weird politics, and they just got weirder. Not only does he like Herman Cain, he’s gushing over him.

“I love Cain’s story,” Eastwood tells the Times. “He’s a guy who came from nowhere and did well, obviously against heavy odds. He’s a doer and a straight-talker, which I don’t see enough of from either party.”

I have a sneaking suspicion Lee Van Cleef would have been a Rick Perry guy.
