Stephanie Stuckey Benfield sent out the following appeal for Terry Miller, candidate for Mayor of Douglasville today. FYI. In small municipal races like this, just a few dollars can make a big difference.

Next week, voters across Georgia will be heading to the polls for their local municipal elections. A lot of good Democrats are running in those races, but I’d like to talk to you about one in particular: my friend Terry Miller.

Terry is a City Councilman and small business owner running for mayor of Douglasville. He’s the only Democrat in a field of four candidates, and so far he’s running a top-notch campaign. Whether it’s out-raising the other candidates by a 2-1 margin combined or knocking on hundreds of doors ina single weekend, Terry Miller has been leading this race from the beginning.

It’s a good thing too, because the stakes couldn’t be higher. The mayor of Douglasville has an automatic seat on the Atlanta Regional Commission, which will soon be making more groundbreaking decisions that will impact every Georgian, not just those in the metro Atlanta area. We need to send an experienced, professional Democrat like Terry Miller to the ARC, and put the city of Douglasville back in good hands. There is no other candidate in the race with the know-how and the vision to take on this responsibility.

Don’t just take my word for it. Go to his website at www.votemillerformayor.com and read about his plan for Douglasville. And while you’re there, you should click on the contribute button and donate $25, $50, or any other amount right now, and help Terry achieve the kind of direct voter contact he needs to win in this last week.

Candidates like Terry are the future of our party, and they need all the support they can get. Douglasville has been divided in many ways for a long time, and Terry has a lot of work to do building bridges in his community.

I hope you will lend a hand.
