What I’m Thankful For

Since I have this fantastic platform, I thought I’d reflect on a few things for which I am thankful.

  • I’m thankful for my family.  Though they’re 650 miles away in Maryland (and California, and New York), I always try to keep in touch, even if I don’t get to see them that often.
  • I’m thankful for my beautiful, smart, and fantastic girlfriend, Khaz.
  • I’m thankful for my dog, Weezer Obama Lennon, and the opportunity I have to foster dogs with The DogLiberator, and I’m extra thankful for our current foster, the lovable Apache (more on dog rescue at some other point in time…)
  • I’m thankful for our troops overseas and at home, past, present, and future.  Thanks for keeping us safe.
  • I’m thankful for being a Georgia Democrat, and I’m thankful that Young Democrats of Georgia has allowed me to be their Executive Vice President two years running.
  • I’m thankful for our President.  And, frankly, I’m thankful for the weak field of GOP candidates that will help our President get elected to a second term next year.
  • I’m thankful for being able to post my musings here on BfD.

From my dinner table to yours, Happy Thanksgiving!

Giving thanks for science and hoping people will examine vital research…..

Please examine ubiquitously ignored, assiduously avoided and willfully denied scientific research by Hopfenberg and Pimentel on the subject of human population dynamics. Scientists with appropriate expertise have failed to assume their responsibilities to science and duties to humanity by refusing to review and report on this vital scientific evidence. The silence of scientists and the chatter of self-serving, greedmongering ideologues appear to be playing large roles in precipitating the destruction of the world we inhabit on our watch.

I’m thankful I don’t believe in many things, politically at least anymore. Life is much more–clear is the best way of putting it.

I’m thankful I don’t care about politicians anymore.

I’m thankful I don’t really care about politics as team sport anymore.

I suppose those are bizarre things to post on a political blog but seriously, life has improved so much over the past year since that’s happened.

I’m thankful for my family. Someone’s got to love me and they’re still giving it a hot.

    I have all my faculties.

    I have all my faith.

I can pay my bills and still indulge hobbies regularly, all without making a ton of money or going into debt.
