Charity Events Can Be a Drag!

But not, if they are actual Drag!

Tomorrow (Saturday) join us at the legendary Jungle Night Club for the Society debut of Miss Victoria Secretions. Vicky is the evil younger sister of our beloved friend Jason Cecil.  Victoria is competing in the Miss Ruck and Maul Pageant, and needs your support!

What is Miss Ruck and Maul, you ask?  Why it’s the biggest fundraiser of the year for the Atlanta Bucks Rugby Football Club and a designated charity.   This year’s charity is the Homeless LGBT Youth Fund for the Atlanta Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence. Sistory of the Sisters here.

Six contestants will perform two numbers each, the advising “Faculty” will perform AND there is another contest to see who made the best outfit from a $20.oo Dollar store purchase. Thats a lot of entertainment for $10.00! Drinks sold separately.

All donations you make or tickets you buy to the 2011 Miss Ruck and Maul pageant,  help Victoria Secretions win the 2011 Crown, but you also help homeless LGBT youth.

What: Drag Fundraiser for the Atlanta Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence-LBGT Homeless Youth Fund.

Where: Jungle Night Club

When: Saturday December 2, 2011

Time: 6:30 Show begins

Cost: Minimum donation of $10.00, more is appreciated.

There are TWO ways to get tickets, and the easiest way is through the First Giving website.  Victoria has her own donation page: Go to the website, donate the amount equal to the number of tickets you want, then put your name and how many tickets you want in the comments section of your donation.  For example, if you want to buy 2 tickets, you donate $20, and write “<your name=””>, 2 tickets” in the comment section.   This is BEST way to make sure that your ticket go toward Victoria’s fundraising total.  Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure.

This page is for general donations too!  If you can’t make it, please consider donating $5 or $10.  I promise there will be pictures AND video made available after the event for all donors!  Plus, who doesn’t want to help LGBT homeless youth Especially in a city like Atlanta that is sadly a national epicenter of child slavery and prostitution for homesless youth, many of whom are LGBT.

There WILL be a way to buy tickets at the door, but the odds of Victoria getting credit for your ticket sale go down dramatically.  IF you want to buy your ticket at the door, please EMAIL me, call me, text me, SOMETHING to let me know that’s what you want to do.( Jason’s contact info jacecil {at} gmail.com  I can make sure your name is on a “will call” list at the door.  You can try telling the ticket man at the door to credit Victoria’s total, but who knows if that will be done or not.

Victoria says “Many thanks for your support lastly, pray for me that I don’t fall down in these heels I have to wear!  Women of the world, I salute you for your fortitude in footwear.”

As one of the co-costumers, I can say, it’s going to be fabulous!

I’d like to see consideration given to instant runoff in general electorate including primary voting—I think it could have a moderating effect.

Hope this worked out well for all the sewing involved. And 3 little words I want:
Instant Runoff Voting! We might have saved a few hours on Sat. w/o any change in the DPG/DNC voting results. Just a thought. JMP

I’m so looking forward to this, and will be more than ready for a drink and drag show after a day of DNC elections.

*note* no actual Tampons were used…

TBS ( sigh) they are maxi pads, and I turned them into the most awesome “Maxi-Monogram” V.

The glittered, rhinestoned, sequined bra is my masterpiece though. Folks should come out just to see that!

Alls I can say is that it is AMAZING what can be done with tampons, panty liners, Christmas ribbon, Christmas tree skirts, red plastic cereal bowls, and “Grandma’s Sugar Cookies” plastic dinner plates! Oh, and SHINE… LOTS OF SHINE!!!
