Happy Monday
• If you’re in Metro Atlanta, please join the Fulton Dems, Atlanta Young Dems, DPG LGBT Caucus and Atlanta Stonewall Democrats on Thursday, December 8th for our Holiday party. RSVP on facebook here.
• Tomorrow, December 6, 2011 is Special & Runoff Election Day in Georgia. Many of the races are listed below the fold.
• Speaking of Election Day, two factions of the GAGOP are slugging it out over SD-50. The results could tip the balance of power in the Senate between dumb and dumber.
• PI pulls a 1997 Supreme Court decision regarding mandatory drug testing of candidates from the archives. Meanwhile, Rep. Scott Holcomb was the talk of the DPG Winter Meeting. He’s energized Georgia Democrats.
• If you haven’t checked out the Democratic Party of Georgia facebook page, go on over. There’s always something interesting there. Really, there is.
• Georgia Democrats elected Liz Johnson as the newest member of the DNC from Georgia on Saturday. Congrats Liz.
• I recently noticed the GBPI has a new blog, Beyond the Numbers.

On a fresh Monday, we present The Money, All of it. Via the incomparable XKCD.com: http://xkcd.com/980/
Fascinating & expandable. Yours to explore & dive into.
Congrats to Liz Johnson and to other unexpected firsts at the recent DPG meeting. Our first published organizational chart, which was greeted with mostly stunned (?) silence, but for one noted exception. Marketing Plan & online campaign store too. Fun stuff coming in at hr. 4-5 of an ~ 7hr. day. There’s got to be a better way, IRV!

What is the best way to reform Georgia’s tax code? Tax on food? Tax on cigarettes? Energy sales tax exempt.? Ag exempt.? What R your ideas?
my response
@GASenatePress wouldn’t it be simpler 2 say u want to tax poor people? Everything listed r serious impact on poor. #Closeloopholes instead
Seriously, we are debating GA tax policy on Twitter in a 140 characters… who are these idiots? Yes I realize I participated, but come on… Isn’t this a tad more complicated than Twitter can handle. Who is this person? Do they speak for all GA Senators? I doubt it.
Any more than 140 characters and you’re pushing the limit of comprehension for a significant fraction of the base.
