Random Stuff and Open Thread

A fair warning to candidates and campaigns…  targeting is important, it can help you win…  it can also make you look just plain lazy.  I mean, seriously?  I remember a 2010 mailer from a Georgia Republican State Rep…  exact same mailer, two different recipients, one had a white family and one had a black family… be smart, folks.

At least it’s not only Democratic Party state affiliates that are looking bad lately, the RNC is having continuing problems with its Nevada affiliate…

Got $5?  Got $10?  Send it here, and quick…

Uh oh…  looks like Grover and his purity oath could be facing some pushback

I will never understand why this man continues to show up on my radio and TV…

The things some people will do to have friends amuses me…  these guys aren’t having a good week…

The Olympic flame is en route to Britannia…  will the US finally recapture the gold in gymnastics this year, I hope so…

Polls are not always accurate…  so don’t quote them…  or, do quote them, but know it’s most likely BS…

So now that you know I read Politico, the AJC and the BBC…  your turn.

Non Breaking, Mayor Cory Booker of Newark NJ can be a bit of a thick putz & a mercurial moron:

Somehow feeling less charitable if more generous lately too. If that makes any earthly sense. We like these guys. We need them to be more competent, generally. Finesse your big banker pals in private. If you care & dare to. JMP

It will be nice if we were to have an election that didn’t feature articles that reduce to “I’m ignorant of statistics and proud of it!”

The question is not whether polls are accurate but whether polls are more or less accurate than the alternative. Given that the alternative is reading entrails, I prefer polls. But then, unlike most campaign journalists and staffers, I don’t profit from the reading of entrails, so I suppose I’m biased.
