Georgia Politics

darnit, i missed the biggest story of the day by an hour or so – http://www.ajc.com/news/news/state-regional-govt-politics/chip-rogers-leaving-state-senate/nTMbb/
And evidently national news now:

I’m guessing the ‘Chip’/'Will’ Rogers leaving the Ga. Senate will have to pass for the most immediate ‘happy news’ on the day.
“The Recession’s Toll: How Middle Class Wealth Collapsed to a 40-Year Low” by The Atlantic’s Jordan Weissmann

Yes, again the ‘lesser Depression’ marks us. But good graphs there too, and this reminder: “Here goes: Between 2007 and 2010, the median net worth of U.S. households fell by 47 percent, reaching its lowest level in more than forty years, adjusted for inflation. In other words, middle class wealth virtually evaporated in this country. A good chunk of the population got sucked through a financial wormhole back to the sixties”. Obama & FDR the only US Presidents known to have been reelected under such onerous conditions & ~8%+ unemployment for much of their terms. Utterly remarkable. Still. JMP
