We’ve got video!

happy CoffeeThe DPG Chair Candidate Forum was a great success yesterday!  It was standing room only as we gathered to hear from the four candidates, RJ Hadley, Dubose Porter, Mary Squires, and Doug Stoner.  However, not everyone was able to attend, so it was videotaped!  Many thanks to volunteer, Billie Islam, for taking charge of the camera.

Watch all four segments here:  DPG Chair Candidate Forum Video.

Special thanks to the DPG LGBT Caucus, Democratic Women’s Council, 5th Congressional District Caucus, and The Young Democrats of Georgia for sponsoring and organizing.  Additional thanks to The Democratic Party of Georgia for hosting at the Clubhouse on Trabert.

This just in from Lowell Greenbaum, the Forum in Augusta has been cancelled:

“Please pass on to your districts that because of several scheduling conflicts, the forum for candidates for Chair of the Democratic Party scheduled for August 17 in Augusta has been cancelled”.

Evidently the candidates have been seen to be actually & actively campaigning for the position. So there’s that too. Good luck to all! JMP

Happily, I remain unpolled (by phone at least). But Mary Squires informs us (State Comm members) via email that she’s withdrawing from the race for Chair, due to extenuating family reasons, (the acute declining health of her SIL). That from an email @ about 8.30PM tonight. I thought I’d pass that along here.

I thought the forum went well and was unusually informative too. My particular question remained unasked, (see archives below), but I was pleased to hear from everyone there. And it was very congenial too. As I later told folks, I credit the Cookies & Coffee. Thanks to everyone who made it all possible. JMP

Email addresses, but not cell phone numbers, are on DPG website.

I believe they use to be listed on the DPG website, is that not the case still?

Also, my understanding is that it is the same number that is used for anything from the automated-text system.

It’s from the same number as the text that was sent out on 7/12 claiming (inaccurately) that Doug Stoner had voted 8 times in Republican primaries. Interestingly, I responded to this last text (the fake poll) by asking who’d sent it, and no one replied. I do wish we didn’t have to experience this type of thing. By the way, only a few people have access to the cell phone numbers of State Committee members.

Does anyone know who keeps polling me about who I’m voting for? I mean, it is pretty obvious who I’m voting for, but still… it is annoying.

Thank you so much for posting this. I wasn’t able to make the forum, so this is the next best thing. It’s great to see all the candidates side by side.
