Heartbreaking News.

The world community has suffered a great loss this morning.  Media is reporting the passing of civil rights visionary, Evelyn Lowery.  Mrs Lowery, wife of civil rights icon, Reverend Joseph Lowery, died from complications related to a stroke suffered last week.  Much will be written in the coming days, weeks and months about her incredible contributions.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family, friends, and followers.  She will be missed.

May she rest in peace.

    Mrs. Lowery is the wife of civil rights activist Rev. Joseph E. Lowery and founder of S.C.L.C./Women, Inc. the sister organization of the historic civil rights organization, the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (S.C.L.C.), the creator of the annual Drum Major for Justice Awards that takes place annually in April in Atlanta, GA and the creator of the annual Evelyn G. Lowery Civil Rights Heritage Educational Tour. Having suffered a massive stroke on the evening of September 18th, Mrs. Lowery made her transition in the early hours of Thursday, September 26th in the comforts of her home, surrounded by family and her husband of close to 70 years.
