Funny. Stupid. Sad. Awesome

Drag_queen_wing__72388_zoomOpen Thread Wednesday. I’m giving you a few things to discuss, most aren’t about the debt or Georgia but meh, I think I just wanted to use the fabulous picture of my Halloween Costume.

No, really.

By the end of the day we will find out out if Michigan will be the 14 state to allow same sex couples to marry, we will or will not have a Shut Down deal, will Rush Limbaugh’s head explode for reals.

Funny

The Pansy Patrol people were AWESOME. I think I lost count, there had to have been what 12-15 pansy patrollers? They were definitely effective.

How the other half thinks in the GOP Senate:

    Bloomberg: The TP Elitist Populism:
    http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-10-14/the-tea-party-s-elitist-populism.html

Sadder still, how the Other half Lives:
“Meanwhile In The Real World, Americans Sell Hair, Breast Milk And Eggs To Make Ends Meet…”

Felix Salmon of Thompson-Reuters reminds us once again: “The Default Had already begun” You stopped paying your bills, when?

So how much did all this deadly BS cost us? Plenty!

“Austerity Policies Have Probably Cut Economic Growth in Half This Year”

“Republican austerity policies have probably cut economic growth in half this year and raised the unemployment rate by 1.4 percentage points. Heckuva job, guys.” Via MoJo & Krugman in the NYT:

    http://www.motherjones.com/kevin-drum/2013/10/austerity-policies-have-probably-cut-economic-growth-half-year

The GOP shutdown? At least $24Bill:
“S&P: Shutdown Cost U.S. $24 Billion, 0.6% GDP In Projected Growth”

    http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/s-p-shutdown-cost-u-s-24-billion-0-6-gdp-in-projected-growth

For those following at home, that’s about a Million jobs, and $800 Billion in fiscal drag on the economy. Almost exactly what was spent previously on the ‘controversial’ Stimulus. All due to partisan plays undermining growth and confidence in the economy, while cutting jobs. Sand in the gears. And they’re proud of it. JMP
