Guest post from GOPeach
GOPeach is the right wing blog commenter recently "voted off the island" at PeachPundit. Yes, they actually took a poll. It seems GOPeach is so far right that he/she is something of an embarrassment to the Punditistas who prefer to think of themselves as being in the mainstream. Some have even suggested GOPeach is a Democratic mole. Not likely.
Whatever the case, GOPeach seems to get on everyone's last nerve over there, so I can't think of a better reason to invite him/her over for a guest post. As most of us suspect, and as GOPeach reveals, many Republicans are comfortable with the idea of a theocracy in the US, or at the very least, a state religion.
Have at it GOPeach.
Thanks to Mel at BFD who is progressive enough to invite a right wing nut job like me, GOPeach, from Peach Pundit, into their tent!!! It just goes to show us that blogs are modern peace pipes and I hope we can find a place to agree - somewhat! :)
"One Nation Under God" - GOPeachTheocracy is an unavoidable reality. The rejection of one theocratic government leads to the choice of another theocratic government. Even democracy is theocratic. Have you not heard the phrase vox populi, vox dei? “The voice of the people is the voice of god.” In a pure democracy, whatever the majority says is right becomes the law for that moment in time.

The Black community has been able to use theocratic language without being described as theocratic.

No matter if we are right or left, we must all look to protection and guidance of Almighty God

and that my friend could very well be a theocracy!

Good luck on the theocracy thing. By the way, what are your thoughts on Copernicus?

This would make a great platform plank for the GOP Presidential nominee. Here's hoping it's Mitt Romney and his magic underwear. That would finish the GOP off for a while. Praise be.

Do we need this? Let's nail our own theses to the cathedral door and go for it.

Welcome Peachy. Nothing like entering with a bang.
There is certainly no denying the use of religious imagery in many of the historical writings of our country - who would even consider such denial. For those of us (such as myself) who are decidedly non-religious it is a source of discomfort that we have long overlooked or suffered through. For example, when present for the Pledge of Allegiance I am silent for the "One Nation under God" line.
I don't believe that moral values come from a power higher than ordinary humans. I don't believe there is any power higher than that of the people. Frankly, I am amazed that anyone who considers themselves a patriotic American would deny the undeniable strength of people, and particularly that of a community of people united for a single effort - that of forming a historic and remarkable nation.

Hi Peach. Welcome. About the nicest thing I can say about your (and Gary LeMar's) argument is that it's sophistry. I am afraid I remain unconvinced.

So, since pyramids appear on our dollar, and pyramids still exist, and there are many references to pyramids throughout history, and the first pyramids occurred in Egypt, then wouldn't it be inevitable that Egypt will rule the world?

Thanks everyone for such a nice welcome.
It took a lot of nerve to come over here as you can imagine. I knew you guys may not see things the way I do, but maybe we can at least find some talking points of interest... I am open to your thoughts. Perhaps I can share mine also. Please know that I post in a humble and a respectful mannor. I do like to have fun and maybe you all will understand my sense of humor ( provided I do not get evicted). :)
FYI - Peach Pundit allowed me back on the Island as long as I do not discuss certain topics. I made a comment about the Pope being PRO-LIFE and a Cahtolic blogger went postal... " Do not discusss my religion" he cried. Some people are hyper senative about their faith ( or the lack thereof)... Anywho ... I guess I am a bit naughty...
You see ... when I was a teenager ( a long long time ago) ... I was ALWAYS told to not discuss POLITICS or RELIGION. I never saw the point.
To me Faith and Government go together like peas and carrots ( to steal a quote from Forrest Gump. :)
Mel - I am not a Mormon and neither is the majority of Americans so I would not think Romney is the man for the GOP or the USA. I think our man/woman is yet to surface. It may be a big surprise. ( fingers crossed).
I think that the majority of Amricans are Judeo-Christians within various groups ( families of faith)based on simple biblical concepts.
For Example --- Did you know that the 3 BRANCHES of GOVERNMENT idea came from The Bible?
For the LORD is our judge( Judicial) , The LORD is our lawgiver ( Legislator) , The LORD is our king ( Executive) ; He will save us-- Is. 33:22
http://bible.cc/isaiah/33-22.htm
Now -I believe there is a part of God in all people as we were all created in HIS image. That is how theocracy and democracy merge. I am not looking to establish a "State Religion". We tried that in England. Remember? They do that in the Middle East -- not good.
We just need to recognize the source of our morals. The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” Psalm 14:1

Well GOPeach, it's pretty quiet here on the weekends. You might catch some flack Monday, but then again maybe not.
BTW, who would you like to see at the top of the GOP ticket next year?

I voted to keep him ON the Peach Pundit island, so don't blame me if GOPeach starts acting out here. Preachin' all that fire and brimestone stuff, for instance.

GOPeach---welcome to the "other side" of the dial. That is, of course, a pretty large misnomer. We are not really the other side, but we DO believe in giving all sides a forum.
As to the Christianity, I cannot disagree with your premise that, as a nation, we reflect Judeo-Christian tradition. What I am most anxious about is how those theocratic mavens on the conservative side see our nation. And I want them to PUBLICLY state that vision for all to see.
You see, I have this belief that the people would repudiate their position if it was out in the open. I have my own idea of what this nation should represent on the world stage...call it a Christian view , a Moslem view, a Baihi view or whatever. I am sure we all do. Let's get them all out in the open.
