No, the most disturbing thing about this situation is the aftermath of these "conversion" centers nobody wants to address. Specifically, the fundamentalist community has yet to spell out a clear, feasible strategy for disposing of spent gay. All you see is the bright and shining newly-straight putzes coming out the front door, but each one of those conversions can generate several barrels of gay that must be contained for years after each Evangelical is saved. Right now, the government allows these centers to store their extracted gay in sealed casks that are stacked in above-ground cooling pools, 'cause they're so HOT. But they have no permanent solution for geologic storage, because local communities are afraid of getting gay in the water. Can you imagine if terrorists were to hit one of these gay repositories with a jetliner? It'd be like, FABULOUS, everywhere.

I can't speak for other professions, but for Marriage and Family Therapists, it is an ethical violation to engage in trying to help someone "change" their sexual orientation. His conversion and intent to study psychology points out a flaw in the Georgia licensing law for LMFT's and other therapists: clergy are essentially exempt from the licensing law and can hang out a shingle offer 'pastoral counseling' without so much as course in psych 101. This was a compromise made years ago when our current licensing law was passed.

With all the groups out there talking about controlling the disposition of nuclear waste we really need a group to control and guide the disposition of gay.

Maybe once Bette Midler is done planting gardens in NYC she'll take this on - with some help from Babs and Barry?

The question is - Do we stockpile it all in San Francisco and Midtown Atlanta or should we plop some down in Livingston, Montana and Paducah, Kentucky?

And with Ted Haggard, they probably had to close down the facility temporarily, so they could figure out to do with all of the left over gay. You know there had to be a lot of gay left over after treating that freak.

Frankly I'd be a lot more worried about a re-occurance of that...

why are christians constantly obsessing about sex, gender and genitals? sheeesh don't they have other things to worry and pray about ex: hunger,famine, millions of orphans , overpopulation, degradation of the environment, pollution, global warming,poverty to name a few. WHY IS THEIR MORALITY SO CENTERED AROUND WHO IS HAVING SEX WITH WHO. I GUESS to the fundamentalist , evangelicals and their ilk, being a heterosexual drug dealer is better than being a homosexual philantropist -- talk about a sick and twisted religion!

On the other hand perhaps here is a wonderful opportunity for gay and liberal churches to open themselves and take pity on this wretched individual and offer to 'deprogram' him and save him from further auto-ruination ( o.k. i made this word up LOL ). In order to atone for their years of spewing out venom and being implicitly involved in the persecution , alienation and marginalization of minority groups like gays, lesbians and transgender people ( courtesy of their minority bashing intolerant evangelical preachings), both Haggard and his wife should work for the rest of their life in the counseling and succor ( not sucker LOL) of gay ,lesbian and transgender people who are recovering from the trauma and hurt of wicked and evil christian oppresion, marginalization,injury and ruination.
