Ah, relief from the tease. The tease of following the National League East standings and being tortured by the Atlanta Braves, who can't decide if they want to be a main player or a hanger-on.
Thank you, Yankees and Red Sox, for swinging by town this week and bringing your New Yawk- and Bahston-accented fans to The Ted. (Hey, local radio talk show hosts, stop worrying about Braves devotees outnumbering the ballpark invaders. The mix creates a fun environment.)

For awhile we can go all amnesia on the playoff chase, which has been
more like a crawl. Who cares if the Tomahawks are in fourth place,
behind the . . . egads, Marlins? And that the Phillies and Mets, both
banged up, have not been run down.
All that matters for the moment is that the mighty Crips and Bloods from that other league, the one with the designated hitter and four-hour games, are seeking some southern comfort. And, so far, not getting it, with Tommy Hanson and a host of relievers blanking the Yanks 4-0 Tuesday.
Forget tne October playoffs. This might be the Braves' playoffs, six games against the most respected franchises in baseball.
The NL East worries can wait till next week, when the Phillies bring this enticing homestand to a close. Enjoy the moment.
