The Atlanta Falcons aren't saying how long, but Michael Turner's high ankle sprain almost certainly knocks him out of Sunday's game against the New York Giants.
Not good. Lost-boy quarterback Matt Ryan needs all the help he can get, and Turner's absence leads the ball-carrying chores to the pedestrian Jason Snelling and maybe Jerrious Norwood, who has been MIA with an injury. Matty Ice has morphed into Matty Vice, and no Turner means he probably won't revert back soon.
Worse, the Giants have been seething during an off-week that followed their third straight setback, and the reigning (correction: recent) Super Bowl champs will be looking to unload some pent-up frustration on the Birds.
The case can be made that Atlanta's 28-19 loss on Tobacco Road was the season's weakest effort. Ryan continues to backslide, raising the question that his rookie season might have been a fluke.
It's a man-up week for the Falcons.

I love the Giants, but they are not the reigning Super Bowl champs, Pittsburgh is
