Oddsmakers list Georgia Tech as a seven-point pick over Georgia. If you were a betting man, or woman -- and the odds say you are -- wouldn't you ride the Yellow Jackets?
Maybe if wide receiver A.J. Green (shoulder) can ingest enough pain medication and play, the Bulldogs can keep TV viewers from switching over to the opening of "Saturday Night Live." Maybe if . . .
After the el foldo against Kentucky, maybe there are no ifs. Georgia committed four turnovers and five 15-yard penalties, continuing a sorry pattern set back in the summer, to gift-wrap Kentucky's first win in Athens since the Civil War. Well, not quite, but it seems that way (1977, actually).
Of course, the Bulldogs were mourning the death of Uga VII on Thursday. (Flash the sarcasm sign.) Though, seriously, doesn't wearing Uga memorial stickers on their helmets demean such rituals for real human beings?
A safer prediction is that Willie Martinez will serve his final regular season game as UGA's defensive coordinator. (On second thought, Mark Richt might not wait until after a bowl game to make the move.) A defense that has not distinguished itself this season seems a mismatch against Tech's inventive triple option.
Georgia is playing for pride and avoiding the bowl game in Shreveport. Tech, which held its place at No. 7 in the BCS standings, saw any hopes of a championship game berth vanish, but a top five finish in the rankings is likely with three more wins.
As for the Bulldogs, forget Uga for now. This season has been Ugh.

UGA? Clearly had a premonition about all this. Did not want to stick around for all the ignominy. I'm not sure I'd take the points, but I still think Tech's got the higher hand & the better chances.
