Same old song: another Holyfield fight falls through

In the long, strange trip that has been Evander Holyfield's career, now comes the strangest part yet: With next month's fight against Francois Botha pushed back, Holyfield (left)  has set an unofficial record for consecutive bouts that didn't come off as scheduled.

The number is either three or four, depending on which account you believe. They have been cancelled, postponed or never happening in the first place.

The dude is so patient, he makes Job look fidgety. Holyfield says he'll wait until Mayand take on Botha in the U.S. No more foreign sites that you need an atlas to locate, manager Ken Sanders says.

For the Botha bout, Holyfield would be close to his 48th birthday. And, closer to where even his ardent admirers wish he'd unglove himself for good.

Count me in that bunch. If he steps between the ropes again, just let me know the day of the bout. This on-again, off-again is a joke gone stale.
