Is Barrow gettin’ twitchy?

I never really get many campaigns knocking on my door or ringing my phone. That has now changed. In the past week I have had one phone call from the Barrow campaign asking if I knew who I was voting for then today I had a Barrow canvasser hit my door. The telephone poll was professionally done. The script was seamless. The caller told me about John and then asked if I was planning on voting for him. After the call he told me that it was paid for by “Friends of John Barrow.”  The canvasser who knocked on my door had his lists, his pda, and his Barrow sticker on. Asked me if I was a registered voter and also asked if I was planning on voting for Barrow. His equipment (pdf, checklists etc…) were professional. I will be interested to see if his field program is being run by a pro outfit such as Fieldwerks.

What I find interesting about this is not the fact that he has a ground game going but the fact that my neighborhood has never been targeted by the Barrow campaign before. It makes me wonder. Is he getting nervous? If I was a betting man I would bet on Barrow winning his primary but with his vote on healthcare his victory margin may be smaller this time around.

I like the fact that my congressman is working for my vote. This may be the first and last time that I am asked to vote for Barrow in a primary (more on that later).

Yes, he’s using Fieldworks. I’ve been contacted by them twice already in the past week.

He won’t. Putting up a $500 bet he won’t lose the general (unless he withdraws, dies, etc).

Maybe he means because Barrow may lose in the general?

Oh no you don’t. You can’t possibly leave us hanging like that.
