Let me try and put this as delicately as I can

When you have limited personal style, do not let your staff talk you into an event requiring an exceptional amount of, well something you severely lack.

Case in point, this past weekend Sen. Blanche Lincoln was the guest of honor at a “Hats off for Lincoln” event sponsored by her campaign. Here is how CNN described it;

On Sunday, the senator attended a campaign event at a prominent,

black-owned restaurant in Little Rock. The campaign billed it as “Hats

Off to Senator Blanche Lincoln,” – a play on words as the gathering of

mostly African-American women, and the senator herself, wore fancy,

colorful hats often seen in black churches.

A quick review of Sen. Lincoln in “images” reveals someone who is

devoid of any flare, color, accessories, lipstick, a current haircut,

in short, on a good day, she’s just bland. So why on earth would anyone think

plunking an even uglier hat on her head?

Just about everything that could go wrong, did.

First, let talk about the fact that Sen. Lincoln is wearing a black suit with a beige straw hat, the woman is as “beige” as it gets, slapping a giant beige hat on her head isn’t going to flatter her in the slightest.

Second, a yellow scarf? What crackhead thought this was a good idea. Trust me, it was not.

Third, could this have been any more intimidating of an event? A crowd of predominately black stylish women on a Sunday all wearing their church hats? Sheesh, I think the Queen of England (a woman of splendid hat wear) would have given pause.

Finally there is this gem;

When asked why some blacks might now waver in their support for the

senator, Perry said, “They just didn’t understand the facts of

[Lincoln’s record].”

The president of the Little Rock NAACP sees it entirely differently.

Dale Charles explained that the organization does not endorse

candidates or parties. But Charles did highlight what the civil rights

organization sees as items in Lincoln’s record that are troubling to

the black community.

Charles claimed that on key issues, including support for

African-American farmers and helping to get black federal judges

confirmed, Lincoln has done little.

So let me get this straight, the whole thing was likely ineffective and you look bad doing it?

Run-off.. yeah nooooo surprise.
